General/Operations Manager for a Cooperative (PlatformX’s Sister Company)

(Remote ; Part time)

Looking for a General Manager (GM) for a new company (a coop; sister company of award-winning startup company, PlatformX) to be set up within the next few days/weeks.

Must be based in Cavite (ideally GenTri, Dasma, Silang, or Trece).

A cooperative or coop is a company that is owned by its members. All responsibilities and profits are shared among its members.

This role will start part-time but will eventually turn into a full-time/semi-full-time, flexible, long-term role (decades).

What You Will Do

The General Manager will work directly with and help execute the vision of our Founder. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to these: 

• Oversee the overall day-to-day business operations of the cooperative by providing general direction, supervision, management and administrative control over all the operating departments subject to such limitations as may be set forth by the Board of Directors or the General/Representative Assembly
• Formulate and recommend in coordination with the operating departments under his/her supervision, the Cooperative’s Annual and Medium Term Development Plan, programs and projects, for approval of the Board of Directors and ratification of the General/Representative Assembly
• Implement the duly approved plans and programs of the Cooperative and any other directive or instruction of the Board of Directors
• Provide and submit to the Board of Directors monthly reports on the status of the Cooperative’s operation vis-à-vis its targets and recommend appropriate policy or operational changes, if necessary
• Represent the Cooperative in any agreement, contract, business dealing, and in any other official business transaction as may be authorized by the Board of Directors
• Ensure compliance with all administrative and other requirements of regulatory bodies
• Perform such other functions as may be prescribed in the By-laws or authorized by the General/Representative Assembly.

Must Have/Be

• At least 2-7 years of administration, management, and/or operations experience
• Integrity and reliability
• Fast learner; detail oriented; organized; collaborative; flexible; proactive; diligent
• Can work with minimal oversight
• Extremely good communicator and a team player
• Willing to attend mandatory in-person meetings (likely rare, at least initially)
• Willing to join the cooperative (to comply with the law)
• Able to follow instructions of the Founder
